Packers writer claims Adrian Peterson likely ‘descended from slaves’

A longtime Packers beat writer received some negative attention following a racially-charged paragraph in a recent column about Adrian Peterson.

The main subject of the story is how the Packers should try to sign the free agent running back. However, while discussing Peterson’s past, which includes a misdemeanor charge following his assault on his four-year-old son, the Green Bay Press-Gazette writer Pete Dougherty included some words which have now been removed from PackersNews.com.

On Friday, Peppers was measured at 5-10 7/8, which is two inches shorter than he was listed at Michigan. His height translates well to the linebacker position, but it’s pretty short for a safety. He weighed 213 pounds, which is light for a linebacker, causing a dilemma for the decision-makers.

“He is a very unique athlete,” Chiefs GM John Dorsey told reporters this week. “I do find him a fascinating study in terms of where do you play him? It’s kind of like the Cheap Atlanta Braves Jerseys study a couple of years ago I think with Shaq Thompson that the Panthers drafted, he was the running back-linebacker guy. It’ll be interesting to see where at the end of the day people have him on Cheap Baseball Jerseys their boards.”

Peppers was also used as an offensive weapon and a returner in college. His athleticism will draw the interest of most teams, but it seems as if the people in charge are still trying to figure out how best to utilize it.
