Bengals waive two linebackers

When draft picks walk in the door, somebody is usually walking out.

The Bengals announced this morning that linebackers Carl Bradford and Connor Harris had been waived.

Bradford, a former fourth-round pick of the Packers, was on the Bengals practice squad last year and signed a future deal in January. He has also spent time with the Bears, Bills, and 49ers since being released by the Packers

P.J. Hall, DT Sam Houston State: He’ll form a young inside tackle tandem with Eddie Vanderdoes, a rookie last year. Oakland is banking that they can create enough havoc to free up Khalil Mack while also stopping the run. Despite being just 6-1, Hall is also a factor on special teams given his knack for blocking kicks.

Isaiah Oliver, CB, Colorado: Another excellent addition to a defense that too often doesn’t get its just due. How athletic is Oliver?

First-round pick Terrell Edmunds and fifth-round pick Marcus Allen are not the only new additions to the safety group in Pittsburgh this offseason. The Steelers also signed Morgan Burnett and Nat Berhe as free agents with Sean Davis back from last season’s team.

Tre’Quan Smith, WR, Central Florida: New Orleans just let Willie Snead go to Baltimore, so this helps replenish depth at receiver. Smith averaged nearly 20 yards per catch in 2017, so he could replicate some of Snead’s big-play ability.

Chukwuma Okorafor, OT, Western Michigan: Seems like a developmental prospect who takes the roster spot vacated by Chris Hubbard.

Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama: He’s an enforcer and could push Barry Church and Tashaun Gipson for snaps on a loaded defense. Harrison’s value will be in the box, not as a center fielder.

Alex Cappa, G, Humboldt State: He completes an inside trio that includes Ali Marpet and newly signed C Ryan Jensen. They could open some nice holes for new speed back Ronald Jones, one of Tampa’s second rounders.

Quinn: Lions had’multiple offers’ for No. 20 pick

The phone was predictably ringing, and the Detroit Lions were making several calls of their own. But when push came to shove, the team preferred to stay put at No. 20 and draft Arkansas center Frank Ragnow.

We had multiple offers on the table for our pick, general manager Bob Quinn said.

Quinn said the Lions had multiple players with similar grades, but Ragnow was the highest on the team’s board, making it an easy selection.

It was enough for the analysts to be impressed with the Lions’ pick, regardless of missing time because of the injured ankle.

He’s a heck of a football player, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. said. When you think about this pick here, he was injured Oct. 21 with a high-ankle sprain. He had a minor procedure. Before that, he was dominant for a center. In the Alabama game, look at the job he did there.

He had a heck of a season going until that injury he’s coming back from. You think about his size and physicality of Ragnow, he could be like (Pro Bowlers) Alex Mack, Nick Mangold and a heck of an anchor up front for you.

In fact, more Barkley jerseys were sold on Thursday night than any player on previous draft nights, online retailer Fanatics, who manages the NFL’s official online shop, told ESPN. Speed played a part in Thursday night’s sales. Fanatics posted jerseys within minutes of a player being selected, making it possible for fans to purchase them quicker than ever before. According to Fanatics, sales were up three times more on Thursday night than last year’s first-round. Former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel previously held the record for most jersey sales on draft night.

Cleveland selected Manziel as the No. 22 pick in the 2014 draft, meaning Barkley jerseys went up for sale much sooner than Manziel’s. Jersey sales for quarterback Baker Mayfield, selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Browns, ranked second-most. Sales for Sam Darnold, chosen No. 3 overall by the Jets, were third. Orders for the sales will not be processed until the players pick the numbers they will wear in the NFL. Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. tweeted his prediction on Cheap Football Jerseys Thursday night that No. 26 jerseys for new teammate Barkley Cheap High Quality Soccer Jerseys will be the top-seller next year.

It isn’t surprising that the Cowboys didn’t see Witten’s career change coming.

There’s been a lot of things [said] over the years, especially the last few months. I guess that’s what happens when you get old, Witten said last week, per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. Hopefully I can play until I’m 40. I’ll take it one day at a time. My plan is to be here with the Cowboys. Absolutely.

While he’s not a game-breaker, Wright did lead Chicago with 59 catches in 2017 before signing in the offseason with Minnesota, where he’ll team up with quarterback Kirk Cousins (Michigan State).

Adrian Clayborn, DE, Tampa Bay: Steady but unspectacular is the best way to sum up Clayborn’s seven seasons in the NFL to this point. His four years in Tampa were up and down as both 2012 and 2014 were cut short by injuries after he recorded 7.5 sacks as a rookie. Clayborn spent the last three seasons in Atlanta, having his best year in 2017 with a career-best 9.5 sacks. He signed this offseason with New England.

The longtime Eagles kicker took the stage, dressed Cheap Basketball Jerseys UK like the guy who does your taxes, and let the building know immediately what they were in for.

We heard you in Philly last year, Akers said. As the boos rained down from AT&T Stadium, Akers continued his grandstand. The last time you were in the Super Bowl, these draft picks weren’t born.

Akers went on to list the Eagles accomplishments from last season — a division title, a conference title, and a Super Bowl title — before finally announcing tight end Dallas Goedert as the team’s pick. How can I troll thee? Let me count the ways.

Philip Rivers isn’t going to be around forever, which is why the Chargers need to spend a second-rounder on a signal-caller. Luke Falk has the natural talent to be a starter in this league thanks to his accuracy and football IQ, but he doesn’t have the best arm. That shouldn’t deter Los Angeles from selecting this quarterback to develop as its future.

The Colts are back on the board with their third selection of the second round, this time going after a tight Cheap Dodgers Jerseys end. Dallas Goedert can help out quarterback Andrew Luck by catching passes and staying home to protect, a quality that Indianapolis desperately needs to keep its star signal-caller on the field. The SDSU prospect’s 6’5, 256-pound frame and blazing speed makes him a red-zone nightmare, and the effort he puts into blocking is icing on the cake.

Torreyes has long established himself as the Yankees’ Swiss army knife.

He fills in at second base, third base and shortstop whenever manager Aaron Boone needs him. He’s even seen emergency work in the outfield since earning the Yankees’ full-time utility role in 2016.

Through it all, Torreyes continues to hit, too. Entering Friday, he’ll have a.417 average and a.960 OPS in 37 plate appearances over 14 games.

That list includes Michael Conlan, the undefeated Irish boxer who, like Stevenson, signed with Top Rank after the Rio Games. Stevenson agreed at the time that the judges had robbed Conlan of a shot to face him in the Olympic semifinals — a controversial decision that led to a profanity laced tirade from Conlan — but now he’s not so sure.

I can’t think it was that big of a robbery, Stevenson said. He had a tough fight and lost on a tough decision — that happens in boxing. I think (Conlan) knows deep down that he can’t beat me.

All of that talk would make for a wonderful buildup to a Stevenson-Conlan bout, with Madison Square Garden as the perfect venue, but that’s years away. For now, Stevenson needs to build up his punching strength and continue to dominate the opponents in his path now.

The kid is so unique because of his size and his speed. He has the ability to string together multiple moves. He has the ability to step on the gas. He can do what we call cross the formation. There are a lot of good backs in this league, but they don’t have the speed to go across the formation. We all know he can catch the heck out of the rock. He is smart in blitz pickup, he sees it. That is probably the biggest issue with all these young rushers now. He is powerful, he runs through tackles and he runs through hits.

After adding Barkley, who accounted for 5,038 yards from scrimmage and 51 touchdowns in three seasons at Penn State, Gettleman is now tasked with continuing to add quality depth to a roster that finished 3-13 last season, if Cheap NFL Jerseys Nike the Giants Best Place To Buy Cheap Jerseys hope to maximize Barkley’s skill-set.
