Not only did Kevin Pillar make another highlight-reel defensive play, but he also homered with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Toronto Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Online a four-game sweep of the Mariners.

Dodgers (22-16) at Giants (15-24), 10:15 p.m. ET — Just one game ahead of being tied for last in the NL West, the Giants open an important early season series with the rival Dodgers. A pair of veteran right-handers square off Monday as Matt Cain (2-1, 4.54 ERA) hosts (Brandon McCarthy (3-0, 3.10 ERA).

NFL free agency: Eagles add pair of WRs in Alshon Jeffrey and Torrey Smith

The Eagles added Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith at the start of Thursday’s free agency period, the team confirmed.

Jeffery will join the team on a 1-year deal worth $14 million, according to ESPN. Smith agreed to a three-year contract, which multiple outlets claim is worth $15 million.

Philadelphia had one of the poorest receiving corps in the NFL last season, especially after losing Jordan Matthews to injury. Smith and Jeffery should be able to become additional threats for developing quarterback Carson Wentz.

Thanks to a leak from Indians general manager Mike Chernof’s son back in spring training, the Tribe was allegedly trying to sign Lindor to a seven-year extension. Now with every passing season the club doesn’t make a deal, the price for Lindor will increase, assuming he continues to perform at an All-Star level.

Lindor, 23, who isn’t even arbitration-eligible Cheap Jerseys Mastercard until after 2018, is off to a torrid .351/.415/.684 start with four homers and 10 RBIs through 14 games. Already a Gold Glove winner, Lindor could join an impressive list of free agents after the 2021 season if his asking price gets out of the Indians range.

Lindor, Bryant, Correa, Corey Seager, Addison Russell, and Kyle Schwarber could all demand upwards of $150 million when the time comes. It would be another free-agent wave of stars mirroring the 2019 class which, as of now, includes the likes of Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, Josh Donaldson, Adam Jones, and potentially Clayton Kershaw and David Price, who have opt-out clauses.

Man flushes deceased friend’s ashes down ballpark toilets across the U.S.

Two men. One love of baseball. A very interesting tribute.

Sounds like the intro to a great sports movie, right? In reality, 56-year-old Tom McDonald has been honoring his late best friend, Roy Riegel, by flushing parts of his ashes down the toilets of baseball parks across the country.

Yes, you read that right.

Riegel, who died nine years ago, was an avid Mets fan, as is McDonald. After Riegel passed away, his family entrusted McDonald with a portion of his ashes to dispose of them in a fitting way.

The president saw that quote and bragged about it at a recent speech. Typically presidents don’t get involved with NFL free agents not being able to get a job, so Goodell was asked how he felt about the comments.

“That’s a comment that he’s going to make and that’s fine,” Goodell said.

Maybe the commissioner is scared to face Trump’s Twitter wrath as well as he didn’t comment much on the situation. He expanded a little bit more when speaking about Kaepernick in broader terms, but still didn’t really say much.

“Our teams are out there working hard to figure out how they can improve each of their clubs,” Goodell said. “They’re making the best decisions they can. And they’re going to do what they can to improve their teams and win. That’s what they want to do for the fans. So Cheap Jerseys Direct Coupon that’s what they’re focused on and that’s what we’re focused on. Everyone’s going to make other comments, and obviously we’re respectful of those comments, particularly from the president.”

Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin III are backup QB options for Seahawks

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll made it clear Monday that his team is still exploring possible additions at quarterback, and a pair of high-profile names could be in play.

During an appearance on ESPN 710 Seattle, Carroll was Cheap Jerseys And Hats From China asked specifically about Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III as options to back up Russell Wilson this year and indicated the Seahawks would be open to either.

“We’re looking at everybody бн we really are,” Carroll said. “We’ve been tracking everything that’s going on, and we’ve got cap and roster issues and stuff like that that we’re still trying to make sure that we manage properly. But quite frankly, yes, we are looking at all those guys.”

“I don’t agree with that and I’ll tell you why. I know myself as a player. I’m really a product of what I’ve been around, who I was coached by, what I played against, in the era I played in. I really believe if a lot of people were in my shoes they could accomplish the same kinds of things. So I’ve been very fortunate. … I don’t ever want to be the weak link.

“I was the backup quarterback on an 0-8 team in my freshman year of high school. I got to Michigan, I was seventh [string], and I had a hard time getting to be No. 2, and when I finally got to No. 1 there was someone else [Drew Henson] they wanted to be No. 1. I got to be a sixth-round pick behind a great player, Drew Bledsoe, and then I got an opportunity, and I’m still trying to take advantage of it.

Baseball Hall won’t alter voting rules to keep out PED-tainted players

The Baseball Hall of Fame won’t change its eligibility rules as they relate to candidate players and performance-enhancing drugs, Hall president Jeff Idelson told ESPN on Thursday.

It has been more than 25 years since the Hall of Fame changed its voting rules to assure that all-time hits leader Pete Rose couldn’t be enshrined because he is on MLB’s permanently ineligible list for gambling on baseball.

“Rules are always a topic of conversation and thought,” Idelson said. “There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about any of our sets of rules for election.

“I thought about it for a minute,” Rodriguez said, via ESPN. “I flew the whole family home after that Friday night. I thought about it a little bit that weekend. I was fortunate to have a few offers. I called them back and said, ‘No thank you.'”

Rodriguez is making $21 million while not playing this season, but he and Yankees principal owner Hal Steinbrenner agreed for Rodriguez to return as a special adviser and spring training instructor, especially for the yonger players.

“I could spend all the time in the world on the field,” Rodriguez said. “But these guys are great talents. They are the best players in high school and college. I think my value is taking them out to dinner and having a three-hour dinner. Recognizing that the first hour-and-a-half, they will probably pretty nervous and pretty tight. By the second half of that dinner, they will start asking real Cheap Hats And Jerseys questions.”

Longtime Red Sox TV analyst Jerry Remy’s lung cancer has returned

Longtime Red Sox TV analyst and former major-leaguer Jerry Remy is being treated for a relapse of lung cancer, he revealed Monday in an announcement by NESN.

Remy, 64, signed a new multiyear contract with the regional sports network in January and said in Monday’s release that he plans to return to the broadcast booth for his 30th season with NESN and serve as the primary color analyst for Red Sox games in 2017.

A smoker since his teen years growing up in Massachusetts, Remy first was diagnosed in 2008 and underwent surgery that November to remove a cancerous area from his lung. He experienced complications after that surgery, including an infection and a prolonged bout of pneumonia.

According to The Boston Globe, he took an extended leave the following season Cheap Hockey Jerseys Canada and revealed upon his return in mid-August 2009 that he had been battling depression.

Remy had a 10-year MLB career as an infielder, including seven seasons with the Red Sox from 1978-84.

Until the Browns start looking smart with most of their draft picks and signings under Sashi Brown, it’s hard to understand anything they’re doing. For that reason, we’re not going to applaud the NBA-style move to get a player they didn’t want (Osweiler) to add yet another draft pick to the mother lode they have the next two years.

Browns cut Gary Barnidge after he welcomed NFL Draft selection David Njoku

Do you feel having on-field NFL experience like Alberto’s makes a difference in being the vice president of officiating?

Pereira: I really don’t. I was only on the field for two years and then I went into the office and Dean obviously was never on the field. So what happens is in a very important position you come in without baggage.

I mean you don’t have favorites that you’ve been aligned with on the field, a crew that you were with for six years that people think you are going to show favoritism toward. You don’t have coaches that were already upset with you because you made calls on the field in the last 15 years that hurt them. You come in as a fresh voice.

I think that me being able to perform at least adequately and then Dean having no experience and being able to perform like he did proves that you don’t necessarily need to have all that on-field experience. What you need to be is an outstanding communicator and able to communicate with the clubs and the officials and the media. That is the most critical thing.

How will the creation of new positions for Wayne Mackie and Russell Yark influence the officiating department?

The Browns moved back up into the first round Thursday night to select Miami tight end David Njoku. Being a good teammate, incumbent tight end Gary Barnidge tweeted to Njoku, welcoming him to the team.

Barnidge’s tweets seen back-to-back is a good example of how brutal NHL Hockey Jerseys the business side of the NFL can be. One minute, you’re the starting player on a professional football team, and the next you are out of a job entirely.

Hanzal’s acquisition meant less ice time for Haula.

Here’s the thing: No one had a good answer for this. So they took something superficial and blew it way out of proportion. “Hanzal slowed them down!” became the rallying cry. The idea was, Hanzal bumped speedier players out of their proper roles, which ground the Wild’s transition game to a halt.

This was, of course, ridiculous. Yes, Hanzal’s acquisition meant less ice time for Haula. But his minutes per game went from 14:20 before the trade to 12:42 after it.

Did 2 fewer minutes of Erik Haula really turn Minnesota from being a fast team to a slow team? Does anyone honestly think this?

Not to mention that the center Hanzal actually removed from the lineup was Tyler Graovac. Graovac had all of Hanzal’s foot-speed limitations, but none of Hanzal’s abilities. Put it this way- Hanzal wasn’t exactly sending Connor McDavid out of the lineup.

So Hanzal got a bad rap in St. Paul’s media circles (and, in turn, the fan base), and it was for no good reason. Fortunately, the decision-makers in Minnesota saw things clearly. When baited to criticize Hanzal before Game 4, Bruce Boudreau stated “He’s done exactly what we wanted him to do…. He can play for my team anytime.”

Here’s how the Los Angeles Times put it in the hours following Cheap NFL Jerseys USA Game 4, the first game played since the news broke and one that the Clippers lost in a blowout.

The Clippers tried. Oh, did they try. One day after being dragged into the center of national outrage with the release of an audio containing racist statements purportedly made by their owner, Donald Sterling, the Clippers tried to play through the storm.

They showed up even though they considered boycotting. They staged a silent pregame protest involving their uniforms even though some friends and family members were urging them to be more militant. This group of mostly African American men truly tried to stay focused for a franchise owned by a guy who allegedly had just been heard disparaging African Americans.

the NBA squeezed multiple sets of back-to-backs into a short period of time.

“I don’t think the Commissioner maybe can, or even should, do anything about [resting],” Stern told USA Today. “But shame on the Brooklyn Nets. They broke the [pact with fans].”

Teams’ decisions to rest their star players are also a consequence of harsh NBA scheduling, however. The average team played around 16 sets of back-to-backs this season, and while that’s an improvement from last year’s mark of nearly 18, it’s still a harsh physical toll.

Moreover, the NBA squeezed multiple sets of back-to-backs into a short period of time. When the Cavaliers rested their Big 3 against the Clippers in March, they were in the middle of a brutal stretch.

Stern is the man who, in the first place, settled on the NBA’s regular season total of 82 games when he took over as commissioner in 1980. And it was also Stern who set the precedent by fining San Antonio $250,000 for leaving Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker, and Danny Green home for the last game of a six-game road trip in 2012.

Hindsight is 20/20. Hopefully, Silver has the foresight to find a fair solution.

I’ve heard it’s hard rooting for D.C. and every time things go right, it’s basically only a matter of time before the heel turns.

But when the Hawks did roar back within Where To Buy Cheap Jerseys two points and only a minute left, Washington answered back with a Wall jumper and iced the game defensively. That’s exactly what you want to see from a team that appears more mature and talented than most that have come before it.

Where does that leave the Clippers?

Beating the Warriors is a pipe dream. The Clippers would have long odds even if Griffin were still around. He’s not. A toe injury has ruled him out for the postseason, leaving CP3, DeAndre Jordan, and the supporting cast left to fight for L.A.’s future.

It will be another crushing end to a season you can chalk up to a twist of fate. It’s been six years since CP3 and Griffin have been together. At some point, what’s happened can no longer be deemed bad luck. At some point, it’s just who you are.

Where does that leave the Clippers? Griffin, Paul, and J.J. Redick are all free agents as of July 1. It’s widely presumed that CP3 is intent on signing the fattest contract possible — one he helped invent in collective bargaining — to stay with the Clippers. Paul is said to love living in L.A. with his family where he is the clear alpha of the franchise and no one can pay him more on what should be his last mega-contract.

Chris Paul keyed a run in the 3rd quarter that put the Clippers up 69-61. He was everywhere on defense, pushed the pace well on offense, and got Jamal Crawford a couple Cincinnati Reds Cheap Jerseys easy buckets. It is simply amazing to watch the man play basketball, and he was clearly expending every ounce of energy he had to keep the Clippers in the game.

It wasn’t pretty. In fact, the Clippers nearly blew a 14-point lead in the final three minutes to the Jazz. After two inexcusable turnovers, the Jazz were able to get within three points and a chance to tie at the buzzer but Joe Johnson just came up short. Those talks about breaking up the Clippers will have to wait for another day.

Meanwhile, the Jazz will have to dig deep to win a Game 7 on the road on Sunday. You have to wonder if they gave away their chance with not being able to close the deal in Game 6. We’ll soon find out.
